The Fabius Historical Society is having a Monthly Meeting - Gerrit Smith and the Crusade for Social Reform at the Fabius Community Center.

It will begin at 1:00 pm and end at 3:00 pm

The February meeting will be Monday February 6 at 1 pm at the Fabius Community Center. Norman Dann of Peterboro will tell us about Gerrit Smith and the Crusade for Social Reform. Smith is probably Peterboro's most famous citizen. In the 19th century he earned an enormous fortune yet found time to engage in social crusades striving for woman's rights and opposing slavery and alcohol. You will learn much about life in a small town back in those days as well as getting a picture of the temper of America in those days.
